How to wear a colour which doesn't suit you 🧐

I LOVE turquoise! If it was up to me, I'd have a wardrobe full of it. But unfortunately it really doesn't suit my complexion. I look best in something muted, like this:

So I guess I'm just gonna have to stick with turquoise walls in my bedroom 😭... OR... are there any other ideas?

Let’s explore together!

The trick is to add a colour which does work on you as close as possible to your face. That way, you can add your favourite colour in and it will still work. To make it easier to explain, imagine that you, just like me, love turquoise and it doesn’t work on you.

Here are some ideas on what to pair it with.

PRO TIP: Don’t be afraid to combine very different shades and colours next to each other. There is actually a much higher chance that they will work great together, than if they were similar colours. Opposite colours normally work great together, similar colours clash 😉

  1. Add a scarf in the right colour to go with your “turquoise” top:

2. Add a blouse with a high neck in the right colour under your “turquoise” top. All you need is just a sliver of your colour popping out next to your face.

3. Add a coat in your colour:

4. Add the earrings in the right colour:

5. Add a necktie in your colour

6. Add a turtleneck in your colour to a “turquoise” jumper

7. However, using “turquoise” in your interior is actually also a great idea! Think about it, you will see it much more, if it’s in front of you, rather than on you. 😉
